Reopened Issue: Add support for claims authentication w/ windows [6963]

It would be great to have support for claims authentication using the NT Token provider. Attempting an import with this configuration currently results in a 403 as the client attempts to redirect to the windows authentication based login page.

After renaming a document library the program incorrectly tries to save files to an url containing the new name.

I need to make a massive upload to SP from a shared disk, but uploader skips several files having filename starting with illegal chars followed by space.

eg: "~ A Cover Letter - Charter of Flotel.pdf"

"ERROR System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (414) REQUEST URI TOO LONG."

Your fantastic tool removes illegal but not the space.

Solved by myself:

In Class FileNameConverter it is sufficient to invert order:
first replace illegal characters
next trim "." and " " from filename

If the user does not have permissions to the document library, or the credentials do not authenticate properly, for example only username is provided not password, then you will get the error message "The document library Help does not exist." It would be nice to have a more explicit message that makes this clearer, for example, "The document library Help does not exist or you do not have permissions to access it."

When I try to issue the upload command I get a "Document Library XXX does not exist

Office 365 Sharepoint uses claims authentication
The code herewith uses Windows and Forms Authentication only
The OrbitOne Developer could record accordingly and it would be a big benefit to all
For the time being I bought a product called filestogo @ http://www.thinkscape.com/SharePoint-Online-File-Migration-Tool/
Very good tool - Chargeable though
Why Microsoft havent writtena tool I have no idea - Sometimes they are really stupid!!!!
They want to promote Office 365 - Surely a Partners Toolkit would be a priority for their product managers!!!!

Hi... on running a test to a custom doc lib I've created, it successfully creates folders but fails to copy any of the content files. Log file is attached. However, running the command on the same file directory to a document library that sharepoint creates by default with a new site works without error. The custom library uses content types, has custom fields, etc. But, in comparing the default library against the custom library, I can't see anything different that might be flagged in the importer's error messages -- so I'm not sure what the problem is. Since it appears that it might be bombing because something's returning "null", it may be that I've deleted some standard columns that this expects to find?

I've been through the doc, requirements, etc. and don't see anything obvious I'm missing for the importer.

Any clues? Help MUCH appreciated! Thanks, Dennis

Hi Dennis

Is there anything special about the document library you create?
Unfortunately I can't really deduce anyhting from the error logs.
The only thing I can think of is that it might be missing the "_Source" column. This is a Site Column that will be added to the document library automatically when you run the improter, but maybe something goes wrong. Could you check if that column is in fact there after running the importer?
